The Haddon Fortnightly celebrated its 120th anniversary on Friday, Sept. 26, The celebration included piano performances by club members Joanne Parsons and Janet Norcross. Club historian, and former club president Sonia DeFelicis, shared highlights of the first 50 years of both the Women’s Club and Clubhouse. In addition, Borough Historian Doug Rauschenberger provided an amusing presentation about life in Haddonfield in 1894, the year The Haddon Fornightly was founded. The presentations were followed by a delicious tea prepared by the members.
The celebration was attended by almost 120 guests, including Haddonfield Commissioners, the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Club’s President, Immediate Past President, Officers and Chairmen. Other guests included Presidents of the Garden District Women’s Clubs, six of the nine still living past Presidents of The Haddon Fortnightly, members of the General Club and members of The Evening Membership Department including their Chairman.
It was a wonderful celebration of all The Haddon Fortnightly Women’s Club has accomplished over the 120 years!
